Susan Handrigan has been dabbling in art since the age of three. As a teenager she spent a lot of time drawing and pastelling the Newfoundland coast where she grew up. She continued to explore her love of art informally while attending Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. There she expanded her portfolio to include acrylic, and oil painting. However, it was not until after University that Susan found her real love and passion when she took an Encaustic Painting course at the Toronto School of Art in 2001. Since this time she has been painting exclusively in this style. She moved to Montreal in 2005, where she currently resides with her husband and newborn daughter.
