Maura Barrans is a Montreal artist who studied at Concordia University in Fine Arts. Her culturally diverse background serves as fodder for her inspiration. She finds beauty in the human canvasses that are etched in her mind and finds pleasure in capturing their essence through painting. Maura connects to her artwork through a hands-on approach; she tries to retell their stories by sculpting and molding the images. She breathes life into each image through the use of bold colour and shading techniques, and completes them on various surfaces. Her most recent artistic endeavor is painting on glass.
