I have always had a strong desire to paint, but there was never enough time. By profession a garden designer and a ceramist, drawing is a part of my training.

Few years ago, I decided to take painting courses. I learned watercolour technique first, then tempera and acrylics. Since then, I have been painting on regular basis.

In my first series of paintings, “RELATIONSHIPS” and “POMEGRANATE,” the style was figurative. Totally fascinated by nature and human interactions, light and shadow, I try expressing emotions of the present moment or the past, often subconsciously.

Lately my work has evolved into abstract. I am painting on canvas with acrylic paints often with the addition of collage, using papers that I paint in advance. I like to apply various materials to create textured and tangible surfaces. I love the process of layering colours, watching them move and merge, creating images that suggest colourful landscapes.
