Indra Singh "4 Women 4 Visions" |
|||||||||
Indra Singh is a Montreal-born artist. She studied commercial art at Dawson College which led to a career as a fashion illustrator and graphic artist. Many years in the advertising industry honed Indra’s draughtsmanship skills but she yearned to express herself more personally and decided the best way to do this was by continuing her art education. Presently, time-permitting, she is pursuing a fine art degree at Concordia University. A horse-lover all her life, the many horse portraits she created led to a study of the equestrian world and overlapping areas: horse people (often including dog people!), horses themselves, appreciation of weather and of land. Working in various mediums, Indra delivers in many styles from abstract to photo-real. Having exhibited and sold her works in various art shows, she is now a sought after artist doing commissioned works across North America. Indra is also a skilled teacher of painting and drawing. Working with students at all age levels, she brings both mastery and whimsy to the experience. Her sense of play, her desire to inspire, her encouragement of others to express their creativity, makes learning from her a pleasure. She regularly guest teaches at schools like Miss Edgars and Miss Cramps of Westmount, to name but one, and holds workshops focusing on different ways of making art. She recently participated in a special fundraising event for a theatre group where, as the guest artist, she created a drawing live which was auctioned later that same evening, bringing significant profit to the cause. Indra invites you to discover her works and hopes they will rekindle a desire to enjoy your own life and those you love with even more passion, colour and expression!
