Ina Varkala was born in London England and received and ‘A’ level in Art at school.After pursuing various careers she went to Art College and graduated with ‘Merit’ and got 1st prize for a thesis on Lithuanian Folk Art.
She started painting after a career in Printed Textile Design. First she did Decorative Painting then switched to acrylic and water-color.
Ina studied acrylic painting with Kal Kalwanoski and water-colors with Jacques Hebert and Barbara Simmons.
She is a member of the Beaconsfield Artists Association, The Artist Circle, The Baltic Artists Association, and the Pointe Claire Golden Age Artists, and goes to ‘Plein Air’ and outdoor painting group in the summer months.
She has exhibited with these various groups and has had solo exhibits in the Beaconsfield and Kirkland libraries, and various church shows.
She loves the outdoors and gets her inspiration from nature and animal life.
