Clifford Oldfield was born in Montreal in 1923. During the last 87 years, he has devoted most of his spare time to his craft. He created his first painting at the age of 14. Over the years he has created more than 500 oil paintings as well as signs, watercolours, commissioned pieces and drawings. His collection of ships, trains, portraits, flowers and landscapes are truly magical.
From a very young age and throughout elementary school Clifford was always drawing. He graduated with the top mark in his art class and was awarded a scholarship to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. He was fortunate to be under the tutelage of two of Canada’s greatest artists, Anne Savage and Art Lismer who was from the Group of Seven. Clifford then went on to graduate from Valentine’s School of Commercial Art as a Commercial Artist.
Clifford believes and has said many times, “There is no question about it in my mind, I was born an artist!” His art has and continues to provide him with many happy hours.
Clifford invites you to peer into his world of expression. Enjoy the journey!
