Carol Lappin "4 Women 4 Visions" |
|||||||||
Carol has been painting for over 50 years. She studied drawing and painting at the Ontario College of Art and Design, and graduated in Fine Arts in 1958. Influential teachers were Jock MacDonald, Carl Schaefer and Alex Miller. She was also inspired by the Toronto group, “Painters Eleven.” Carol’s work has been presented in Montreal, VanKleek Hill, Vermont and Beaconsfield. “The inspiration for painting can be mental or physical. My inspiration is usually from nature or the human body. Colour and light create motion. I try to imagine what is under or behind or hidden from view. Emotions create energy which can be translated into colour. A completed work is rarely a picture, but truly a painting. The painting comes from the inner self.”
