MY BERNISSAGE 2009

This exhibition celebrates the 80 years I have lived on this planet.

The paintings are meant to express the joy of being alive and my gratitude for being given a long life.

I try to capture the passion for living with the use of blind drawing and the human body in motion for inspiration. Dream material is allowed to surface unedited and free of conscious control. By disregarding to some extent the accuracy of the eye, I am better able to catch the spirit that operates within, to find the point of stillness in the action.

I hope to create an emotional bridge between the work and the viewer.
